GRAPHIC DESIGNER WITH A FOCUS IN ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN AND MARKETING

Hi, I’m Emily!

Nice to meet you! I am a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth, holding degrees in Graphic Design & Marketing (BFA) and Theatre (BA). I’m currently based in the Twin Cities Area, although Duluth will always hold a special place in my heart. I am skilled in most areas of design, but my favorite projects focus on branding, print design, illustration, layouts, and board games. Outside of work I enjoy making art, doing sewing projects, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.

How I Do My Design Work

Everything is Designed…

…from the shoes on your feet, to the interface on your phone, to the street signs you pass on the way to the store, where all the boxes are – you guessed it – designed! Everything you touch has been designed. Everything I design, I aim to design well. Because the world doesn’t need more bad design… or, worst of all, mediocre design.

Form Follows Function.

No two projects can be served by the same brand identity. In fact, no two projects can usually be served by the same solutions. In every project I work on, I always look at what the aims are of each, and evaluate what each one truly needs. The form of the designs I make always follow what the project needs to function, now and in the future.

The Devil’s in the Details.

Ever seen a design where it just looks… unintentionally messy? The text isn’t aligned right, the colors look muddy, or the pictures are fuzzy or pixelated with no clear reason? A moment of attention to the details pays off BIG. And details are my favorite!

EVERYTHING IS DESIGNED. FEW THINGS ARE DESIGNED WELL.

??? Why are you still here?

Is it because I said Dungeons and Dragons?

I know I’d stick around if someone said Dungeons and Dragons,
